Synergy 2008 Concert

In July, 2007, Young Voices of Melbourne, the Australian Boys Choir and The Vocal Consort planned to be in Singapore at the same time. Such an opportunity to sing a concert of Australian music for the locals was not to be missed and the concert “Synergy” was duly presented in Singapore’s new Esplanade Recital Studio, where it was a resounding success.

Directors Noel Ancell and Mark O’Leary resolved to repeat the cooperative venture and back in Melbourne the choirs will again combine to present “Synergy 2008” at BMW Edge, Federation Square. The program is different, but the spirit is the same, with an exciting building adding its own dimension.

The Australian Boys Choir and The Vocal Consort will give the World Premiere of a newly-commissioned work by our Artistic Director – Black Swans, a setting of text by A. B. (Banjo) Paterson – amongst a selection of recent Australian music. Young Voices of Melbourne will draw on their extensive international repertoire to complete a concert that will entertain and delight.

Starting at 7.00, the program will be a short one (no interval), leaving time to enjoy Melbourne’s rich and varied night life. But you’ll have to plan ahead: the intimate venue is expected to sell out quickly. Book by calling 95785459 or 9888 4898.
